Frisbee Girl

Frank Mitchell using crutches.

Crutches are a type of mobility support aid that transfers weight from the legs to the upper body. They are long sticks with handles. They also have a piece at the top of each stick that either fits under the armpits, has a cuff that goes around the forearms, or has a platform for the forearm to rest on.

History[]

Colonel Cameron Mitchell's father, Frank Mitchell, was a test pilot who lost his legs after a crash. He uses crutches to walk. (SG1: "Collateral Damage", "Bounty")

When the Atlantis expedition and the Athosians were first settling in on Atlantis, Halling got hurt and ended up on crutches. (SGA: "Hide and Seek")

Christopher Wallace

Christopher Wallace on crutches.

Major Christopher Wallace of SG-4, while it was led by Lt. Colonel John Sheppard, broke his ankle when he lost his footing trying to help Babbis who fell in a stream. He was on crutches afterward. (SGA: "The Return, Part 1")

During a mandatory rest day for the Atlantis expedition, a Marine hurt her ankle while playing volleyball. After wrapping her ankle, Dr. Carson Beckett was going to get her some crutches but the Tumor creation device incident took priority. (SGA: "Sunday")

Colonel Samantha Carter broke her leg on M5V-801. When she returned to Atlantis, her leg was reset and put into a cast. Because of that, she had to be on crutches for a few weeks or so. (SGA: "Trio")

Alternate realities[]

In an alternate reality, that Sam Carter accidently traveled to with Arthur's Mantle in 2007, Cameron Mitchell didn't make a full recovery after his F-302 fighter-interceptor crashed in Antarctica. He used crutches for a time but after he wasn't given anymore expensive doctors, he had a setback and ended up unable to walk and used a wheelchair instead. (SG1: "The Road Not Taken")

Alternate timelines[]

In an Alternate timeline created by Ba'al, Dr. Daniel Jackson lost a leg to frostbite. He used crutches for a time before he got a prosthetic leg and used a cane. (Stargate: Continuum)
