Nick Marlowe was the actor who portrayed "Colonel Danning" in the television series Wormhole X-Treme!. Danning seems to have been based on Martin Lloyd's fuzzy memories of Colonel Jack O'Neill, though the final character seems to bear little resemblance. In fact, Danning, with his pompous and libidinous nature, appears much more reminiscent of Star Trek’s "Captain Kirk."

In 2001, Marlowe was shooting episodes of Wormhole X-Treme! when Colonel Jack O'Neill came aboard as the Air Force's consulting producer. (SG1: "Wormhole X-Treme!")
2006[]
During Martin Lloyd's attempt to produce a Wormhole X-Treme! movie, Marlowe held out for a bigger paycheck. (SG1: "200")
c. 2014[]
Eight years after Wormhole X-Treme! was renewed, Marlowe left the show and he was replaced by another actor. (SG1: "200")
Trivia[]
- Marlowe leaving the show after eight seasons paralleled Richard Dean Anderson's own departure from the main cast of Stargate SG-1.
