Claire Jackson (née Claire Ballard) was Dr. Daniel Jackson's mother and Nicholas Ballard's daughter.

Biography

1973

She was apparently an archaeologist like her father and her husband Melburn Jackson. She and Melburn were killed in an accident at the New York Museum of Art, when they were crushed by a falling capstone that they were trying to arrange as part of an exhibit. When Ballard refused to adopt Daniel, the young boy was put in foster care. (SG1: "The Gamekeeper", "Crystal Skull")

• Despite being given the first name of Claire in the episode in which she appeared, this character was named Karen in the screenplay which was released on the MGM website.
