The Cimmerians are a race from Earth settled by the Asgard to ensure their free development. (SG1: "Thor's Hammer", "Thor's Chariot")
The Cimmerians are a generally peaceful tribe who live on fishing, hunting and farming. Their homeworld falls under the Protected Planets Treaty, meaning that it's protected from the Goa'uld by the Asgard. They were reunited with their Tau'ri brethren on the planet.
