A cigarette is a small, tightly rolled bundle of dried and fermented tobacco that lights up as the smoke may be drawn into the mouth and then blow out the smoke.
On Abydos Colonel Jack O'Neill could be seen smoking cigarettes several times. Skaara was curious about them and O'Neill allowed him to take one. After a coughing fit the boy threw his away. O'Neill agreed with him that they were bad things. (Stargate)
In 2001 some Russian roadblock soldiers were smoking cigarettes while waiting for a truck. (SG1: "Desperate Measures"). In same year Samantha Carter found a pack of Russian cigarettes "Petr" during a mission on P2X-338. (SG1: "The Tomb")
In 2009, Destiny expedition members that had been smokers such as Dr. Nicholas Rush went through nicotine withdrawal since there wasn't any source of nicotine on the Destiny. (SGU: "Darkness")
