A Chem flare is a type of chemical-based light source.

Overview[]

Unlike normal flares, which are noisy, give off toxic smoke and are a fire hazard, chem flares are quiet and are in contained units.[2]

History[]

In 2008, Lt. Colonel John Sheppard and Major Anne Teldy's team used the chem flares when they dealt with Michael's experiment. (SGA: "Whispers")
