Cham'ka was a small village on Chulak. The inhabitants of the village tended to the trees of the Morning Cham'ka Groves exclusively and a large number of Jaffa who entered the priesthood came from this village.
Being born in Cham'ka and anointed to the maintenance of the private gardens of the gods was a sign of great favor. Each tree of the Borous fruit was tended to by one individual who devoted their entire life to it. Failure to care for their tree was a great affront and usually resulted in banishment to another province. Those that skillfully tended their Borous tree for at least five seasons were often invited to the Temple of the Gods to enter the formal service of the Goa'uld. (RPG: "Roleplaying Game")
