The Space shuttle Challenger is an aerospace vehicle manufactured by the United States. Prior to the Stargate Program, the space shuttle Challenger were destroyed in atmospheric orbit when the shuttle solid rocket booster failed during its orbiter's tenth mission. Samantha Carter was unable to join the shuttle program after the loss of Challenger. (SG1: "Secrets")
