The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention commonly known as the CDC is a United States federal agency under the Department of Health and Human Services that works to protect public health and safety by providing information to enhance health decisions. The main focus of the agency is disease prevention and control (especially infectious diseases). During the Ori plague outbreak, the CDC helped Lt. Colonel Cameron Mitchell track Lt.
