Cell phones are a common form of wireless communication devices used by the Tau'ri on Earth.
Uses
- When Jack O'Neill and Teal'c went on a fishing trip, Teal'c borrowed a cell phone which Daniel Jackson used to call him on, despite O'Neill's goal of trying to isolate himself from the problems of the SGC.(SG1: "The Curse")
- In 2001, Col. Jack O'Neill carried a cell phone with him on the Wormhole X-Treme! set, but left it on during filming, where the ringing caused disruptions. (SG1: "Wormhole X-Treme!")
- Elizabeth Weir carried a hands-free cell phone, which she carried with her all the time. However, she felt that talking to someone on the phone this way would make her feel that other people would think she would talk like a "crazy person". (SG1: "Lost City, Part 1")
- After discovering that the Asurans retaken Atlantis, Stargate Command contacted Lt. Col. Sheppard and Drs. McKay and Weir, who had cell phones.
