Caretaker was a male Latonan. He maintained and took care of the Sentinel, and it was to be his final task to sacrifice himself to the machine, using his own life force to restore its energy.
Biography[]
2000[]
He discovered Colonel Sean Grieves and Lt. Kershaw studying the Sentinel and Grieves shot him and killed him. Kershaw rigged a dead man's switch that the Caretaker was wearing, so that it was not set off when the Caretaker died. As a result of his death, and the Latonans being unaware that he had died, the Caretaker gradually fell into disrepair, leaving the planet vulnerable to later alien invasions. (SG1: "The Sentinel")
