Background information[]
He led the Aurora when she went on a reconnaissance mission to discover a weakness in Wraith technology. After the ship was damaged, he went into a stasis pod with the rest of his crew. (SGA: "Aurora")
2005[]
He and the rest of his crew were infiltrated while in stasis by his first officer, who was really a Wraith pretending to be the officer. He was at first skeptical to believe that he and his crew were in stasis, although he was convinced by Lt. Colonel John Sheppard. Upset that he had been unknowingly aiding the Wraith and aware that his crew was too old to survive, the Captain gave Sheppard the Aurora's self-destruct codes to destroy the ship in a mercy-killing and to take out two approaching Wraith cruisers, a final act to help ensure victory over the Wraith. The Captain told his crew the truth, stating that he was never more proud than at that moment and while the Aurora wouldn't return to Atlantis, they would be remembered. Moments later, the Aurora exploded, destroying the cruisers and killing the crew, including the Captain.
Later, Sheppard's team commemorated the Aurora, her captain, and his crew for sacrificing their lives to save their own in a toast on Atlantis. (SGA: "Aurora")
