In 1969, Michael Clark and his girlfriend Jenny planned to move to Canada via upstate New York, because of trying to avoid the Vietnam War. After hearing this, Teal'c mistakenly believed that the war was with Canada. (SG1: "1969")
Dr. Rodney McKay and his family (namely, Jeannie Miller) are Canadian. On a few occasions, McKay's teammates sometimes tried to insult his Canadian heritage, much to the annoyance of McKay, particularly involving sports such as Hockey and Canadian Football. (SGA: "Hide and Seek", "Echoes")

- David Hewlett (Meredith Rodney McKay) who was born in Redhill, Surrey in the United Kingdom moved to Canada with his family at a young age as did Amanda Tapping (Samantha Carter) who like Hewlett was born in the UK although Tapping was born in Essex.
