Dr. Cameron Balinsky was an Archaeologist and a member of SG-13 and later SG-22.
Biography
2004
On a mission to P3X-666, his team found ruins of an Ancient city. While exploring the ruins, they ran into a Goa'uld Reconnaissance probe that relayed their position before they could destroy it. Later the planet was attacked by Jaffa and Senior Airman Simon Wells was shot in the back by a Staff weapon. Balinsky was eventually sent back to Stargate Command to get reinforcements with SG-1, SG-5 and SG-5 as well as Dr. Janet Fraiser being dispatched to the planet.(SG1: "Heroes, Part 1")
2005
A year later, Balinsky, now a member of SG-22, briefed Brigadier General Jack O'Neill about mineral samples from another planet. He was interrupted by Dr. Daniel Jackson much to O'Neill's obvious delight and relief. (SG1: "Moebius, Part 1")
Behind the scenes
Although Balinsky was given the first name of Cameron when he first appeared in "Heroes, Part 1", Stargate SG-1: The DVD Collection 49 gives him the name John Balinsky. The reason for this mistake is unknown, although it is possible that John is another of Balinsky's names.
