The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms (commonly known as ATF) is a Tau'ri law enforcement agency of the United States of America, somewhat similar to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. For some time in 1999, the ATF had been tracking a cult led by Seth Fargough, because they were heavily armed and fortified in their base north of Seattle, Washington. They clashed with SG-1 investigating the Cult of Setesh. The ATF were technically in charge of the operation, until the President of the United States contacted the agent in charge of the operation, James Hamner, giving SG-1 the authority. (SG1: "Seth")
