Buddy was a Wraith warrior encountered on M3T-211 by John Sheppard, Rodney McKay and Jennifer Keller.
History[]
At some point in the past, the Wraith supply ship carrying Buddy crashed on M3T-211. When the Sea King started preying on the human survivors of the crash, they began drugging the surviving Wraith and sacrificing them to protect themselves.
In 2007 or 2008, Sul Dughan and Marchal brought Ceana aboard the crashed Wraith ship and awakened Buddy as they were found by Lieutenant Colonel John Sheppard, Lieutenant Wright and Doctors Rodney McKay and Jennifer Keller. Before Buddy could feed on the drugged Ceana, Sheppard intervened, but couldn't fire as Ceana was too close to Buddy and would risk being hit. As Ceana collapsed, Sheppard had a clean shot on Buddy and hit the Wraith warrior in the shoulder before Marchal got in the way while running to his daughter's aid. Buddy grabbed the man, smashed his hand into Marchal's spine and sent him flying into Sheppard, allowing him to take down Wright as he or McKay tried to kill Buddy and escape with Dughan who Buddy subsequently fed upon.
Buddy was able to reach a major control link and activate an alert siren to warn the rest of the ship, likely unaware of the ship's true state after having just been woken up. Buddy also managed to increase the power of the distress beacon by a factor of about ten thousand, displaying intelligence unusual for a warrior caste Wraith. McKay managed to access the power plant Buddy was using and route power away from the beacon, but the bypass proved to be too much for the damaged systems to handle. The supply ship's reactor went critical, destroying the ship and killing Buddy and all of the remaining Wraith onboard.
Despite McKay stopping the signal Buddy sent out, a few seconds worth were still broadcast into space, possibly drawing any other Wraith that were nearby to the planet. In addition, Buddy's blow smashed Marchal's spine and he died shortly thereafter. Without the Wraith to sacrifice to the Sea King and his people, the remaining humans on the planet were taken instead. (SGA: "Bone Music")
