Bervell was a male Tollan, who was an engineer on the team Phoenix-1. He was a refugee from Tollana, who desired to punish the Goa'uld System Lords.
Biography[]
Background information[]
Shortly after he finished his studies, the Goa'uld Anubis sent his emissary and Bervell watched as his people were forced to flee their home. One by one, the ships were shot down, killing everyone he'd known and loved.[2]
Bervell spent months in isolation while he hid in the ruins of his homeworld and attempted to call for help. He risked his life so that the universe would know his people's fate and managed to get an aging satellite online remotely. However, before he could complete his transmission, a Goa'uld strike craft struck. He watched helplessly, once again, as the satellite broke up in high atmosphere. But that brief transmission was enough.[2]
A few months later, Bervell was rescued by a Tau'ri Stargate team and subsequently recruited by Major General P.K. Loyer for the Phoenix project. He had nothing left, save the desire for revenge and his pride in what his people had accomplished before their destruction.[2]
2002[]
During an introduction on the protocols of gate travel, a Coolant leak locked down Phoenix Site's gate room and Bervell took a face full of coolant. Dr. Jason Burg had the recruits proceed through the stargate to the base camp at P1X-774 for a medkit to help him. The team found the camp ransacked. When inspected, they found Jaffa boot prints and a symbol of System Lord Wepwawet. The Dial Home Device's power crystal had also been tampered with, but Bervell was able to fit a replacement from a Field Remote Expeditionary Device so the team could return to Phoenix Site.[3]
The team was then tasked to meet with the Tok'ra agent Karrasha who had intel on Wepwawet on P3X-582. They were abmushed by Wepwawet's Jaffa and brought before him. When one of the Jaffa brought forth a mysterious device, the team was them imprisoned while Karrasha was tortured. Bervell was unable to bypass the cage's locks. Eventually, the team and Karrasha were freed by one of Wepwawet's wives, Zirstyr. They escaped the camp and managed to evade pursuit by remotely blowing a hidden cache that Oringo and Lanni set up earlier. The team returned with Karrasha to Phoenix Site safety. During the debrief the team was introduced to Captain Selena Rodriguez, who was their new leader. Together they formed Phoenix-1.[3]
When Haven groups were concerned about the water levels, he and Lanni managed to persuade Henare to wait for the results of the investigation. When Taweret's facility was discovered and the team explored, Bervell developed a cough, probably due to the mold everywhere. He hung back to reduce the risk of giving the team away. When the team found a broken Goa'uld tablet, he was able to repair it to some extent. When the control room was secured, he worked on a computer, finding information about Taweret and the base. He also attempted to shut off the water that had been flooding the facility. Later, when the team was tasked with convincing the Council of Haven to keep the base, Bervell convinced Henare to talk to Hatana after he paid for beers and lost money to Henare in a game, along with vague suggestions of the possibilities for increased trade for both normal and shady dealings.[4]
