Baseball is a bat-and-ball sport played between two teams of nine players each. The goal is to score runs by hitting a thrown ball with a bat and touching a series of four bases arranged at the corners of a ninety-foot square, or diamond.
Charlie O'Neill loved baseball and won several trophies prior to his death in 1995. (SG1: "Cold Lazarus") After becoming the commanding officer of Stargate Command in 2004, his father Brigadier General Jack O'Neill kept a photograph of himself and Charlie playing baseball in his office. (SG1: "Zero Hour")
When Teyla Emmagan was giving birth to her son Torren John Emmagan on Michael's cruiser in 2008, she told Dr. Rodney McKay that he had to catch the child, to which McKay replied that he had never been any good at baseball. (SGA: "Search and Rescue")
