Bacis was a minor Goa'uld who undertook the Trial of Ra long ago and died.

At some point in the past when the Supreme System Lord Ra was still alive, Bacis undertook the Trial of Ra in hopes of bettering his life and the life of his mate Sidhe. Bacis made it all the way to the eleventh planet of the Trial where he succeeded in winning the war games simulation. However, after he inserted one of the keys he received, a wall collapsed on him, crushing Bacis. Unable to free himself, Bacis used his personal recorder to record a final message to Sidhe, expressing regret only that in dying, he left her alone. After asking her to always remember him, Bacis died of his injuries, but his host remained alive long enough to say a final few words of his own before passing away.
1999[]
In 1999, Bacis' body was found buried in clay and still trapped under the collapsed wall by archeologist Dr. Daniel Jackson after SG-1 was forced into the Trial of Ra by the System Lord Mat. As Bacis had not inserted both keys before his death, SG-1 was only able to get one of the keys by winning the simulation and were forced to excavate Bacis' body to get the other. After getting the second key, Daniel ordered that the loose soil be pushed back over the remains with the wind being left to complete the job of burying him again.
Having taken Bacis' personal recorder, Daniel watched the Goa'uld's last moments before leaving the Trial planet. Daniel was stunned at the care and softness Bacis displayed towards Sidhe in the recording and wondered if he was even a Goa'uld until he saw Bacis' eyes glow. The fact that a Goa'uld could care so much about another left Daniel disturbed by the implications. (SG1: "The Barque of Heaven")
