Ba'shut is a group ritual which synchronizes the genetic memory of all participating Goa'uld. The ritual involves a device similar to the Goa'uld healing device. The word ba'shut likely means "scribing" or "passing a message to the soul."[1]

History[]

The twelve Goa'uld librarians of Serekh practiced ba'shut daily and performed it in secret. Their genetic memory was key to the Serekh's organization as there was no catalogue system nor index for the knowledge Serekh contained, which was tens of millions of Goa'uld tablet devices. The location of every tablet was part of the librarians' genetic memory and the ritual of ba'shut maintained that.[1] They performed the ba'shut ceremony in a sacred meditation chamber.[2] (SG1: "Living Gods: Stargate System Lords")
