The Averium is a ceremony where the nanites are removed from the Urrone and distributed to the general population. This process is the Orbanian's sole means of education, but it leaves the former Urrones in an infantile mental state, and since post Urrone children can't be taught via nanites, the society believes that they cannot be educated again. However, this changed when Merrin went through the Averium and shared her knowledge of games and drawing – childhood pursuits not experienced by the Urrone – she was exposed to by Colonel Jack O'Neill.
