Arthur Simms was the Secretary of Defense of the United States of America. His predecessor was David Swift.
Biography
1999
In 1999, he traveled to Stargate Command to represent the President at the ceremony congratulating SG-1 on their recent defeat of Hathor and promotion of Samantha Carter to the rank of Major. During the ceremony, Colonel Jack O'Neill was beamed to Thor's ship and was told that the Goa'uld were about to attack Earth and offers them membership in the Asgard's Protected Planets Treaty.
