Argon is a chemical element. As a noble gas, it almost never forms bonds with other elements, and its density and abundance in the universe is such that there is often a small proportion of it in planetary atmospheres, including Earth's. The planet Hoth's atmosphere, visited by the Destiny expedition in 2009, contained a hint of argon. (SGU: "Water")
