Ara (structure)

An ara is a stone structure used by the worshippers of the Ori for burning people alive. The structure is in the shape of the symbol of Origin and at least one is located in every village of the Ori.

History[]

It was used to kill Vala Mal Doran while in the body of Sallis Cicera, however she was later resurrected by a Prior. (SG1: "Avalon, Part 2")

She was later chained to the structure for three days by Seevis in an attempt to determine if she was worthy enough to let her know that he was part of the Anti-Ori underground. She was eventually rescued by Tomin. (SG1: "Crusade")
