An appendectomy incision.
Appendicitis is where the appendix becomes severely inflamed, forcing the appendix to be removed from the body before it ruptures which can ultimately cause sepsis and eventually death.
Dr. Daniel Jackson was left bed-ridden after suffering from appendicitis. He was later examined by Dr. Janet Fraiser, who informed him that there weren't any signs of residual infection. (SG1: "Nemesis", "Small Victories")
Behind the Scenes[]
Daniel Jackson's appendicitis was due to the fact that in real life, the actor who plays him, Michael Shanks came down with appendicitis during Canadian Thanksgiving, forcing the writers to greatly reduce his scenes in "Nemesis" in order to give Shanks enough time to recover.
