Apophis' invasion of Alternate Earth is the invasion of an alternate reality Earth by the Goa'uld System Lord Apophis that resulted in the conquest or complete destruction of the planet.

Prelude[]

There But for the Grace of God

The Quantum Mirror transports Dr. Daniel Jackson to an alternate reality.

While on a mission to P3R-233, Dr. Daniel Jackson stumbles onto an alien artifact resembling a mirror. He touches the artifact and unknowingly enters an alternate reality. Finding the complex suddenly abandoned, Jackson concludes that the rest of SG-1 returned through the Stargate without him, so he dials home.[3]

Battle[]

In the alternate reality, Jackson learns that Earth is under attack by the Goa'uld System Lord Apophis and Washington D.C. and Philadelphia have just been destroyed. Many cities across Europe, Asia and Africa have been destroyed by the Goa'uld and all efforts by the world's militaries to stop the attack have failed. When he arrives, the Goa'uld are starting their attack in the United States of America, going from the East Coast to the West Coast with efficiency and destroying everything and everyone in their wake, leaving no survivors. At that point, the death toll is estimated to be 1.5 billion.

Apophis' invasion of Alternate Earth 1

A Ha'tak lands on Cheyenne Mountain.

In order to save as many important people such as world leaders, scientists and doctors as they can, the people of SGA begin evacuating them to the Beta Site, but Brigadier General Jack O'Neill, who is in command in that reality, has a nuclear warhead sent through the Stargate to Chulak after being given the coordinates by Jackson in an attempt to stop the attack and strike back. In response, the Goa'uld dial into the Stargate to keep the SGA from dialing out again and escaping or attacking. Air Force One heads for the SGA to bring in the President to be evacuated, but is shot down by a Ha'tak which lands on Cheyenne Mountain to invade the SGA with troops. In response, O'Neill orders the secondary elevator shaft blown and troops positioned to protect the base. Though he wants to send all non-essential personnel to the Beta Site, the Goa'uld wormhole blocking the Stargate prevents it.

Alt Teal'c 1

Alternate Teal'c.

While O'Neill and his men defend the SGA, Dr. Samantha Carter agrees to try dialing out when the wormhole closes as she believes it will around half an hour after it first opened. In the meantime, Carter and Dr. Catherine Langford show Jackson a message they received from the people of the P3R-233 of their reality that states "Beware the destroyers. They come from" and then a bunch of numbers they realize represents a Stargate address. Before they can figure out what the Stargate address is, the Stargate shuts down but they aren't able to dial out in time. Carter agrees to try to speed up the dialing process, but they have to wait 38 minutes to be able to try again and they realize they may not have that much time. On Level 2, O'Neill leads a defense against the invading Jaffa who are led by the alternate Teal'c, but eventually his position is overrun and he has to retreat.

Apophis' invasion of Alternate Earth 2

Alternate Teal'c and Brigadier General Jack O'Neill.

When he returns to the SGA Briefing Room, Jackson has figured out the Stargate address in the message where the Goa'uld attack presumably originated from. While O'Neill wants to use the next chance they have to send another bomb through to the address, Jackson wants to use the opportunity to return to his own reality so he can use the information to stop the attack he believes is coming there. He manages to convince O'Neill to help him. Needing to buy more time to get the Stargate open, Jackson convinces O'Neill to try to ask Teal'c for help with stopping the attack so he can return to his world and save it, using the video tape he made of his mission to P3R-233 to show Teal'c that he and O'Neill are friends in an alternate reality. Colonel George S. Hammond and his men prepare to defend the Embarkation room level from the Jaffa to buy more time to open the Stargate and set the self-destruct so the Goa'uld won't capture the SGA intact. O'Neill seems to come close to convincing Teal'c, but when he brings up the fact that the Teal'c from Jackson's reality changed sides to free his family and his people, Teal'c angrily tells him that O'Neill killed his family when he sent his nuclear weapon to Chulak and kills him in revenge.

Apophis' invasion of Alternate Earth 3

With only a few minutes left, Hammond and his men are overwhelmed by Jaffa and Carter, who goes to get the Quantum Mirror control, blows herself and a group of Jaffa up with a fragmentation grenade. Jaffa take the Stargate Operations room, presumably killing Catherine just after the Stargate shuts down and she starts dialing P3R-233 while Jaffa try to blast their way into the Gate Room. They eventually succeed and Teal'c gets in, but hesitates when he sees Jackson. The faster dialing program works and the Stargate is successfully dialed to P3R-233. Jackson escapes through the Stargate, but when he runs for it, Teal'c fires at him, hitting him in the shoulder. Seconds after Jackson leaves, the self-destruct goes off, destroying the SGA and killing the Jaffa inside. Afterwards, Earth is presumably conquered by the Goa'uld.[3]

Aftermath[]

Jackson is able to use the Quantum Mirror to return to his reality[3] where SG-1 uses the information gathered from the alternate reality to avert Apophis' attack on Earth.[4]
