Anteaus is a male Nox.

Biography

1997

He healed SG-1 (except Teal'c) after their encounter with Apophis on Gaia. When SG-1 wanted to try and capture Apophis a second time, he stopped them and sent Apophis through the Stargate. He was sharp with SG-1 because, like the other Nox, he believed that SG-1 was only a group of assassins. However, he learned that SG-1 was just an exploring team and they should have a chance to learn true ways. (SG1: "The Nox")

Behind the scenes

• Antaeus in Greek mythology was a half-giant and the son of Gaea and Poseidon. If he stood on the earth (his mother) he was indefatigable and of limitless strength, but lifted off his feet he became a normal man. The 'powers derived from nature' image would suit this character completely.
