The Ancient ligature device is a medical device used by the Destiny expedition.
Overview
The ligature device is a surgical tool that is able to cut and cauterize organic material inside the body. The unit will cut as while someone squeezes a handle on the end of the unit. It can be taken apart into different pieces and is directly linked with Destiny's medical database.
History
In 2010, Lt. Tamara Johansen discovered information about the ligature device in Destiny's medical database. She used the device when she performed a kidney transplant between Dr. Dale Volker and MSgt. Ronald Greer. (SGU: "Hope")
