- "Those ruins look recent..."
"They are a legacy of my former master..." - ―Dr. Daniel Jackson and Hem'nok[src]
The Ancient Treasure planet is a planet in the Milky Way galaxy that once held vaults of Ancient scrolls.
History[]
The legend of an isle of treasure was known amongst the Goa'uld long ago. System Lord Sobek learned of its location in the past and at some point sent his First Prime Hem'nok and a group of Jaffa down to the planet's surface to breach the central temple. When they failed to find a way in, Sobek used the main weapon of his ship to make an opening. The temple collapsed under its force and also brought down the technology that was used to preserve the Ancient's scrolls, causing them to crumble into dust. (Stargate: "Daniel Jackson 1", "Daniel Jackson 2", "Daniel Jackson 3")
The temple's destruction also activated the giant Android guardian Kotah, who immediately fired upon Sobek's vessel with power from his sword. The attack destroyed Sobek's ship and killed him along with it. This stranded the Jaffa, but also kept all of the planet's inhabitants and treasure hunters unable to leave as well, due to Kotah refusing to let anyone leave through the Stargate. Anyone who tried was killed. (Stargate: "Daniel Jackson 2", "Daniel Jackson 3")
At some point, Dr. Daniel Jackson learned of the planet after translating the Gilgamesh Vessel and traveled to the planet alone. Near the end of his visit, Daniel managed to take out Kotah's energy source, which allowed the people on the planet to leave. (Stargate: "Daniel Jackson 1", "Daniel Jackson 4")
