The Anchor research facility is a Russian facility where, in an alternate timeline, they studied the Alpha Gate.

Alternate timelines[]

  • In an alternate timeline created by Ba'al, the Russians discovered the Alpha Gate at the bottom of the Arctic Ocean after the Achilles sank. Unsure of what it was, the Russians gave the Stargate the name Anchor as it was found at the bottom of the ocean and brought it to this facility to study it. However, by the time of the Goa'uld siege of Earth, the scientists hadn't been present for weeks. During the siege, President Henry Hayes convinced his Russian counterpart to reveal that the Russians also had a Stargate and redirected SG-1 to the facility which was on emergency power by the time of their arrival while the Goa'uld fleet in orbit bombarded a nearby facility. An Al'kesh commanded by Teal'c landed on the roof and extended its shields to protect the facility from the bombardment. SG-1 convinced Teal'c and the Jaffa that they had the same goal and Teal'c used a small portable DHD to dial the Stargate to Praxyon. As SG-1 and the Jaffa fled through the Stargate, the Al'kesh's shield failed and the facility was destroyed. (SG1: "Continuum")
