In an alternate timeline, Earth fell and became a battleground between the Goa'uld and the Wraith.

History

In the original version of the timeline, according to the Goa'uld Hecate, she had SG-1 killed on P5X-104 which proved to be enough to break the alliance between Earth and her allies due to the machinations of Colonel Harold Maybourne and his NID program, resulting in Earth no longer being protected by the Protected Planets Treaty. During this time, Earth was destroyed by the forces of Apophis a small group evacuating to a new planet set up by the NID as an Alpha Site. During the next century, Hecate took Doctor Janet Fraiser as her host and recruited the aid of Colonel David Dixon, and later Teal'c's son Rya'c, as her 'First Prime', presenting herself as an ally against the Wraith who had come to the Milky Way galaxy in a heavily modified Atlantis. Hecate, who had designs on creating an army of Goa'uld-Wraith Hybrids to use as soldiers to conquer the galaxy, realized that she couldn't pilot Atlantis without someone with the ATA gene. As a result, she managed to travel back in time to alter the course of events slightly to bring Colonel Jack O'Neill to the future.

In the year 2000, SG-1 were sent through a Stargate that had been rigged by Hecate to send the wormhole into the elliptical orbit of a black hole, causing them to essentially remain 'in transit' for ninety-eight years. In this timeline, things essentially went the same as the previous one, as Earth's allies abandoned Earth without O'Neill's mission to expose the NID's operation. During a mission in the Atlantis of this future, O'Neill and Major Samantha Carter were able to locate and use a time-travelling gate-ship to go back in time and prevent the circumstances that had sent them into the future. By preventing the Jaffa from wounding Dr. Daniel Jackson and thus slowing SG-1 down, they were able to ensure SG-1 never fell into Hecate's trap. However, this simply created an alternate timeline which O'Neill and Carter realized when they were not erased from existence. In the process, they discovered that Hecate had been responsible for everything that had happened. Returning to the future of their own timeline, O'Neill and Carter led an effort to liberate the Earth from the Goa'uld and the Wraith. During the battle, Hecate was killed by the Goa'uld-Wraith Hybrid Sobek and her plan was averted when all of her hybrids were destroyed. The hostile Wraith Queen Shadow was killed by the more friendly Queen Earthborn who wished to take her people back to Pegasus. Using Atlantis, the surviving Wraith were returned to Pegasus a year after Earth's liberation while Earth began rebuilding. (Stargate SG-1: Apocalypse)
