Aedan Trask is the leader of a group of survivors in Scotland on a post-apocalyptic Earth in an alternate timeline.

Biography[]

Shortly after arriving in 2098, SG-1 encounters Aedan and his people while making their way away from the Beta Gate. After a brief exchange, Aedan has the team stunned with Wraith handblasters aside from the severely wounded Dr. Daniel Jackson, but merely as a precaution as he is unwilling to allow them around his people armed, something that they quickly accept after waking up and Aedan explains the situation to them. Aedan has his medic Meghan treat Daniel's wounds as much as she can and is confused by the questions of SG-1 who are unaware that they are actually on Earth nearly a hundred years in the future. As Elspeth Burne informs the team of the legends regarding the war between the old gods and the Devourers, Aedan makes several cynical comments as he finds the things that Elspeth believes in to be foolish, although Aedan does confirm that a great deal of people died in the war that the legends are about and that he himself has seen the camps where humans are caged like cattle. The next morning, Aedan returns the team's weapons and advises them to go north, but shows little faith in their survival as he believes that the best that people can do is try to hide and survive. (SG1: "Hostile Ground")

Weeks later, while looking for Lana Jones, SG-1 recalls Aedan talking about having seen the Wraith camps and realizes that he might know where they can find Lana. Aedan adamantly refuses at first, eventually revealing that he and a friend had once actually broken into the camp, but they didn't get far and his friend was killed. As a result, Aedan has refused to ever go back and developed a cynical attitude towards the idea of fighting the Wraith. However, Elspeth manages to convince Aedan to help SG-1 and he begins leading the team and Elspeth towards the facility, his description of the surrounding area causing them to realize that they are in Scotland. The group is captured by Sting who takes them to Queen Earthborn who proposes an alliance as her faction and SG-1 have mutual goals. Aedan is displeased by their decision to work together, but reluctantly goes along with it. SG-1 leaves Aedan and Elspeth outside when they enter the facility and rescue Lana. With Earthborn having started a war, the group's only safe way out is to be beamed into a Wraith Dart and be carried away. Aedan tries to run with Elspeth, forcing Colonel Jack O'Neill to zat them so that the Dart can take everyone. After being dropped off near the Stargate, Aedan and Elspeth part ways with the team, Aedan enraged by their seeming breach of trust in working with the Wraith and stunning him. (SG1: "Exile")

During the final battle to liberate Earth from both the Wraith and Hecate, Aedan unexpectedly shows up with his people to help the Arbellans hold the Stargate in order to keep the Wraith from escaping through it. Together, they hold the Stargate long enough for Earthborn to kill Queen Shadow and take command, sending in Wraith Darts to extract the last of the Wraith. When the Darts arrive, Aedan and his people flee into the hills in fear, but return once the Darts are gone and its clear that they were not after the humans. With victory won, Aedan joins his people and the Arbellans in greeting each other and celebrating, throwing his arm around Elspeth's shoulders and kissing the top of her head with his eyes closed. (SG1: "Insurrection")
