SGCommand

The ASH Archive, also known as the Ashurbanipal Strategic Historical Archive, or the Accredited Safe Haven archives, is Phoenix Site's dedicated research wing.[1]

Overview[]

Project Ashurbanipal preserves cultural heritages.[2] Its primary purpose is to maintain Stargate Command's off-world research backup. It also serves as a place where Phoenix teams can access information, and secure laboratories conduct further research. The ASH libraries are considered classified on Earth, but they do have permission to share findings with coalition members and the sharing of knowledge goes both ways.[1]

Public section[]

ASH's public section has a reception area. This section is maintained by the Tok'ra Wey'lar and Kurser. Wey'lar is the head of project ASH and also keeps track of what information and artifacts are currently in the archive's database. Kurser gives help to those who need to access the archives as well as provides clarity for any mysteries that arise.[1]

Secure wing[]

Underneath the public section is a secure checkpoint that leads to the archive's secure wing. The checkpoint is guarded by two airmen and a Tok'ra security guard. The secure wing is where technicians and researchers from Earth and their allies study the artifacts discovered by the SGC and Phoenix teams.[1]

The Secure wing has supercomputers, a 3D prototyping machine, electron microscopes, particle scanners, and a portable sonogram.[1] (RPG: "Core Rulebook")

History[]

In 2003, Ancient technology increased Phoenix planet's seismic activity to the point of possibly abandoning Phoenix Site. Jonas Quinn, who had spent time in the Archive before, suggested that others should see if anything could be gleaned about their situation there. The relevant information found in the Archives was; a papyrus that discussed how Tok'ra agents destroyed the System Lord Veles' home planet, which could have been by a seismic device. A text about the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 C.E. that had references to the Roman emperor's failure to repair certain special columns in the amphitheater of Pompeii. Which the columns could have been giant Control crystals. As well as a firsthand account about the eruption of Huaynaputina in 16th century Peru, which suggested that Spanish colonizers brought improper gifts to sate the gods of the land, which could mean different kinds of control crystals.
