Events

American researchers manage to activate the Stargate. Dr. Ernest Littlefield, fiancé of Catherine Langford, traveled through and was lost during the experiment due to a non-functional Dial Home Device on the other side of the wormhole. The military canceled the experiments after his disappearance and the Stargate was moved to an armory and locked away. (SG1: "The Torment of Tantalus")

Franklin D. Roosevelt ended his elected third term as President of the United States, dying shortly after being inaugurated for his fourth. (SG1: "The Torment of Tantalus")

World War II ended. The Soviet Union, having invaded Germany, acquired the Dial Home Device for the Stargate found in Giza. (SG1: "Watergate")

Major General Henry Landry is born.
