I once wanted a game for Stargate Universe, that would work very similar to have the TV show set everything out, basically the game would mostly play in first-person or third-person, except when using the ship's Mainframe display, which would Show the ship similar to have this shows up within certain damaged areas and unlocking those areas and fixing them to improve the ships capabilities.
In that show they have the unique opportunity to use Stargates, as one of them was on board the destiny already, and every single planet within its predetermined path.
And as the crew of this ship, it was your responsibility to stay alive, the ship would provide information of what the ship needed in order to sustain the life that was on board it, it would drop out of FTL and dialogue nearby planet where on this planet there were resources that we're needed on board the ship, the ship would create a timer two when the FTL Drive was ready to jump again, and because it was an automated ship at this point, you had to get your resources back in time before the ship jumps into FTL, when you get back using the gate on that planet, you can then take your resources that you collected on that planet and put them to work on board the ship where are the systems needed it.
Throughout your time on board this ship, you are to unlock secrets about the ship and its mission, keep the ship in good repair as much as possible, because the ship will frequently get attacked by other ships and it has been for millions of years as it was automated, but the ship is near its last leg, so it's up to the human crew to fix up this ship the best I can so that they could be ready for another attack, the ship will automatically turn on its Shields when it's about to be attacked by another ship, and it will turn on its defenses.
As the crew you'll run into these events by a certain chance Gap, whether it be on board the Destiny or offworld on some other planet that you're getting the resources on, as commander of the ship you are tasked to make sure the ship works like a well-oiled machine, which means you need to order the crew to do certain things on board the ship at all times.
You will need somebody who can become an expert at Hydroponics to make sure there is plenty of medicine and food on board the ship for the crew, you'll need somebody that is willing to learn the ancient language and decipher certain aspects of the ship to see if they can unlock them, to uncover the mysteries of the ship, you will need somebody who is a doctor and make sure they have the provisions they need in order to take care of people on board the ship, you will need your guards to rotate their shifts just in case something happens while the commander is sleeping.
Basically how the game would work, is most of the planets will be procedurally generated, except for maybe the resources that you need on them, the ship battles will be procedurally-generated based off of level and experience and capability of the crew and a chance gap, every time you and your team gate to a planet it should be at least four people of at least two soldiers one scientist and one Tech person in case something goes wrong at the gate, the Planet will also have procedurally-generated events such as the team possibly being attacked by an alien or an animal on the planet while they search for resources, maybe even use the animal as food for the crew or maybe find medicinal aspects off of the animal for the doctor to use.
If the crew needs help or information, they could either contact somebody via the communication stones, or use the ancient repository chair and unlocked the knowledge using that.
This type of game will never be made, but one could hope.
Now in the show we knew what the Ori supergate looked like, and all the rest of the gates in the series, however we have never seen on screen or off screen what the Ori stargate looks like, so i decided to take this opportunity to present what it could possibly look like based on their style in the show, starting with their version of transporter rings.
Now what i imagined was a possibly milky white ring design, with perhaps an irony white look, i also believe when they activate their stargate that it resembles their insignia that we often see all over their architecture like for example anything from their symbols of clothing of jewelry to the style of the Ori ships interior to their ring transporters.
I was able to present a few photos of the rings that i had to edit to bring out the symbols and reduced fog as i wanted to present these symbols as the very same symbols that they would use to dial their version of stargates.
We already know they have their own version of the gate travel within their galaxy, otherwise how would the first prior come out of a milky way gate to begin with as seen in the show?
Not to mention how they built the supergate by sending smaller objects through their gate to fly through a milky way gate that was established on a beachhead planet.
We also see this symbolism on the Doci, as he wears that device around his neck and and is taken under control by the Ori.
Anyway what do you guys think?
Hi everybody
I am wanting to get into StarGate but have no idea where to start. Can someone offer some advice?
Thanks 👍

Was this on purpose or is it just a coincidence that Tesla's symbol almost mirrors the destiny's design?
Now I understand that the design that destiny takes on a similar look to the Chevron's on the stargate which is where the design of the Destiny comes from.
Now I don't no how long Tesla has had this symbol, but I find this interesting because Tesla right now is known for their solar panel systems as well as a few other things, and the destiny is known for being a solar powered ship, now of course in the show it's very different type of solar as in what it extracts power from the sun or Stars and that power is scooped up close to the Corona of the sun which is the way the destiny works.
And I just found it interesting that the ship looks exactly like the Tesla symbol and almost near identical shape to the destiny as well as how the ship operates using a type of solar power.
Was this by mistake or is it just a coincidence that the ship mirrors the exact look of the symbol for tesla?
Do you think that possibly Elon musk liked the idea of the destiny and wanted to possibly mirror that symbol within his design for his company?
I didn't do a whole lot of research on this, I just found a similar design and I wondered why it's so closely resembled the destiny as well as the Chevron on the stargates.
If you want to listen to a couple of great subtle Stargate soundtracks, listen to these.

They both go great while reading stargate novels or fanfictions.
So as you may have seen in the show, 9 chevron dialing has quite a few differences to standard 7 chevron or 8 chevron dialing. I spent a bit of time thinking about these differences, and decided to share my take on them.
- Everything becoming "projectiles" upon exiting a wormhole:
As you may have noticed, in SGU: Air, Part 1, people are thrown out of the Stargate at a higher velocity to that which they entered in at. This is also mentioned in Twin Destinies, where Telford states that "Everything we carry with us becomes a projectile in a nine-chevron transit".
I believe this may be due to some sort of "bodge" the Ancients implemented, rather than programming a permanent, safer solution.. Since the Stargate de-materialises the travelers, converting them to energy during the transfer through the wormhole. Therefore, the inertial properties of objects or people transferred would also be sent as data to the receiving Stargate. Given that a 9 chevron address will lead to a Stargate of an unspecified distance away (most likely a much further distance than 7 or 8 chevron addresses) the velocity properties of objects is purposefully disregarded, possibly in order to reduce potential interference to the matter stream during transfer, or to allow for the matter itself to be boosted in order to reach the destination. When a traveler arrives through a Stargate, the Stargate, having no idea what velocity the object or person should have, forcefully ejects them from the event horizon, in order to ensure that they leave the gate. Evidence of Stargates behaving this way was seen in SG1: Red Sky, where SG-1 was thrown out of the gate after certain protocols in the dialing sequence had been overridden. Possibly, the matter stream was interfered with during transit, causing the velocities of those arriving to be lost.
- Radio signals are unable to travel through a 9th chevron wormhole:
In Air, Part 1, Scott tries to radio through the wormhole to tell people to "slow down", as they are proceeding through the gate too fast. However, his message does not reach the other side. In Twin Destinies, Telford mentions "it seems that a radio signal does not reach across a nine-chevron connection."
My theory on this is similar to that on objects becoming projectiles in 9th chevron transit. Radio signals are purposefully blocked from being bi-directional in order to minimize potential interference with the matter stream.
- Wormhole is still able to connect, regardless of whether or not the receiving Stargate is in a state of motion when a connection is attempted to be established:
Twice, when Destiny is dialed with a 9 chevron address, the ship is in a state of motion, specifically FTL. Destiny has been shown to receive this connection, and drop out of FTL, presumably to make a stable connection. This is unable to occur when a standard 7 chevron address is used to try and connect to Destiny.
I believe that, because 9 chevron addresses have no relation to the Stargate's physical position in space, a different protocol is used for locking onto the other Stargate, presumably using the benefits of the non-relative 9 chevron address to achieve a connection regardless of whether or not the Stargate receiving is currently in motion.
All in all, in a sense of relief and avoiding the same kind of unfortunate situation. If Keel didn't say this.
"Uh—when next you speak to one—tell him I got iron root in my south field. I can't dig it out myself. Need one of their machines."
He did save Earth and destroyed the totalitarian regime, thus liberating the countless of planets from endless suffering, but that's also really sad that, he would never know what his contribution has accomplished.
Why did the Tau'ri avoid on trying to make their own Stargates or Spacegates or Supergates?
On a eventually, where you are stranded on a off-world. On which of the off-world would you prefer to be stuck on for the time being?
Because Jack was stuck on Endora for 100 days and John was stuck on Cloister during 6 months.

My personal opinion is that the goa'uld will be fine in taking a Wraith as host, now say this wraith is one that's been alive since the time of when they were at war with the Atlantians 10,000 years prior.
And lets also say the goa'uld obtains an queen Wraith.
My idea in how a goa'uld would possibly get into an Wraith is during an feeding as the symbote leaves the body, and embeds itself within an Wraith.
Then there is the blending that takes place, of course this isn't the first time that a Goa'uld has taken another creature as host. as we know the Unas were the first ones, so the Goa'uld say.
Anyway while this Goa'uld takes the wraith as host, the Goa'uld extracts all the knowledge of it's host, this includes everything from their tech to their Physiology, then what intel they have on Atlantian weapons and tech.
The Wraith are probably a superior species for any Goa'uld as they not only have a rich history with the Atlantians, but they also have a rich history of their own and the obvious boost in their physical strength and resilience over any Human body the goa'uld have ever been apart of. and are probably comparative to the Unas in strength and resilience, but because we know an Atlantis scientist created the Wraith with the use of human DNA and that eratus bug DNA, this is also probably due to how the Wraith were so advanced in their tech.
The Atlantian scientist was probably trying to create a human body that had all these traits so he could transform the rest of Atlantian DNA to be resistant to the plague at home, and i have to admit it's quite brilliant, but of course something went wrong with his experiments, perhaps he gave them too high of an intelligence and because of their physical strength they killed him and fed on him and that was that.
Anyway, going back to the Goa'uld, this would be an superior host for the Goa'uld if they ever wanted an comeback or gain a foothold ever again.
Imagine what their style of tech would represent after the blending and taking over the mass of the Wraith armies after a generation of this Goa'uld, i believe his ultimate Goal would be one in the same as the Wraith was.
To feed and enslave and to be as gods like the Goa'uld have been doing for thousands of years. and they know where to go to find more humans because of their genetic memory.
The lifespan of a Goa'uld was already pretty long, but if within an wraith body, they would boost that life span by 10,000 fold because of the Wraith's natural physiology provides it.
I think it was Dr. Beckett who was inspecting an Wraith arm that was severed, that an creature such as this so long as it was properly nourished meaning as long as they feed, they could probably never die, then boost that with how long a Goa'uld's natural physiology lasts as well as their natural resilience within the host they are within.
Anyway, what do you guys think of how this scenario could pan out?
Note i started this as an what if question, but in my head i was thinking that the folks on earth didn't know about any of it until generations later, as it was too late as the Wraith started to take over the milky way galaxy with their new found power and army.
And if it wasn't just some random Goa'uld behind the steering wheel, what Goa'uld do you personally think would be daring enough to try and attempt blending with an Wraith?
my idea uses procedural generation on the destiny for the most part when it comes to the space as well with what the planets looked like, but the basic idea is to use destiny like it was used in the show including exploration and experimentation,
It's an fixer up kind of situation with small scripted events to make things a little more interesting such as the events that happened when the ship was attacked or the ship recharged in an star, and just like in the show, when the crew were unable to use the defenses or know how to navigate the destiny as it was automatic.no drama between the crew that the show had, just straight up with the problem solving of situational issues onboard the destiny.
i actually liked the base premise of the show from the perspective of traversing the stars and exploring the universe and when something on the ship was in need of fixing, the ship's automatic computer would accommodate what the crew needed and would set a course for planets that had the materials needed and automatically dial the gate when you prepare a team to the planet with all the needed gear kino, armor, guns ammo, and the ship would set a time limit to gate back before the ship jumps into FTL back on it's journey while you fix the problems with the ship, you coordinate with your crew on what's needed,
such as medical supplies or to another part of the ship where you fix the areas of the ship that were damaged to repurpose them into something else like a gardening area so you can grow your own food onboard the ship to feed the crew.
communicate with your crew who specialize in science, tech, chemistry, invention, to learn from the ship as you explore the destiny, unlocking more areas to gain more control of the ship as well as discover new unknown secrets of the destiny and the history of it's journey and perhaps a little more about the history of the alteran.
i'm pretty much talking about an task management type of game where the player get's to play a part in all aspects of tasks and duties to manage the ship as well as being able to build from the damaged parts of the ship that needs work to gain access to more areas and build it into an well functioning machine like the destiny was new again.
Some previous fixed areas on the ship can become damaged again due to battles as well as other things going wrong, requiring the player to manage the crew to fix the area up again so it's in working order as well as reinforcing areas to be capable to handle more stress in battle,
For the most part you and your crew are onboard constantly maintaining the core functionality of the ship as some situations can prove to be hard to manage and keep in good repair when the procedural events take place.
The goal is to keep the ship in good repair at all times and survive the journey. The ship can be boarded by an enemy if you don't maintain the ships functionality in an constant manner,
rescue missions could also exist provided the crew learn how to use and fix the shuttles as well as the defenses on the ship. there are a few ways to complete a task with it's challenges that keep you moving as there is always something that can be improved on.
You can make allies and enemies of other races but it's up to the player in how you run your ship and how hard you want the game to be for your playstyle.
This is an theory that i have alone, we know when it comes to the milky way gates and the Pegasus gates that they are independently powered by the mineral known as nahquda.
but my theory of the SGU gates stems from how the destiny is powered, and i believe that the SGU gates are powered in the same way, except that they use the core of the planet they are currently occupying to power the gates through thermal power from the core of the planet, we know these gates are limited in comparison to the gates in the milky way and the Pegasus but noting the age of these gates and where they are found, usually on some planet, we don't see them floating in space and being used.
The gate onboard the destiny is also powered by the stars, so we do have proof that it's possible to power a gate with that kind of power source, although i do wonder if the gate that's onboard destiny has been modified to handle more as it seems to be the only gate that can connect to the other network of gate systems if enough power on the other side matches it's requirements.
Icarus base was an entire planet that was used as not only a power source for the gate that was tied to the planet, the stargate was an milky way gate that was powered by nahquda, but it also needed the extra power to make the connection to the destiny.
However i do believe that the destiny also took some part into the connection when it came to power reserves, we know from the show, that the destiny's power reserves were nearly depleted when they arrived onboard, and we also know that the destiny's power reserves were not holding as much power as the ship was once designed for, like an battery near the end of it's life in an smartphone, the destiny's ability to hold that power was significantly less capable and efficient at this point of it's life, and our arrival caused more stress on that battery's capability to store power.
The other part of my theory has to do with either restoring the ships battery, not really sure how to do this, or to find some way to dismantle the gate and find another nearby planet that has an working stargate and unplug that gate to it's power source that i assume is what i'm describing the power source is, i believe that all that is required is using this specific stargate and it being plugged into an outlet that is powerful enough to gate back to earth.
If the destiny was new it wouldn't have this issue, but it's been millions of years on it's journey and is falling apart the ship is soon to be scrap especially thinking back on that last episode of SGU when they were preparing for that jump across the gap of space between galaxies, they did the math in how long it would take for the destiny to make that jump and it was coming up short because of the destiny's issues with it's power reserves not able to hold enough power, the FTL drive could make most of the journey on it's own, but it would run out of power long before it could finish that gap and end up adrift instead, which is why they decided to put everyone within stasis pods at the end.
Now i didn't read the full comic, and i'm not interested in that ending at all, especially the part where they mention the ancient found in the stasis pods part.
Anyway, like it or don't like it. i just want to hear your thoughts on the subject, and i'm talking to anyone who comments on this wall of text of mine lol.
i have an theory that there are other stargate seeding ships similar to the SGU seed ships, still seeding planets and galaxies outside of their original perspective solar systems. for both the milky way styled gates and the Pegasus style gate systems.
they did this with SGU and the other seeding ships, why not with these other seed ships?
not to mention how many other galaxies could there be stargates within,
in SGU it was above 49 galaxies if i remember correctly, but the possibility's of the milky way styled gates as well as the Pegasus styled gate systems are more than likely seeded within many more galaxies. it would be silly for the alteran to only keep these gate systems only within their perspective galaxies and just stop right there.
if you look at an galaxy, there are all possible routs of an neighboring galaxy's that could exist in all directions. destiny and the seed ships that were sent before it were all sent on their path as predetermined based on the programmed rout of the seed ship or ships sent before it.
but there are galaxies all around our own within either direction, so it's possible that the second version of stargates are also still being seeded till this day, just like the seed ships that were sent out before destiny.
I would also consider that the Technology has advanced possibly a few thousand years since the first version of stargates existence, so the seed ships could be considerably faster and more advanced than the SGU seed ships, as well as the SGA seed ships.
the only example i know of that supports this theory points to the Asgard home world in the Ida galaxy, as it appears to be of the same model as the Milky Way network of gates.
