Nox

In season 3 ep 15 SG1 talks about having saved the guy that invited them when they discovered the Nox homeworld. Was that an error, or is there an episode I somehow haven't watched, or how is that meant to be interpreted?

In season one episode of sg1, how did O’Neill know that there would be a raid right when they revived Nafrayu?

We know the Ancients probably just genetically evolved by happenstance/kept themselves genetically edited to look the same (human) as us and not evolve very much physically in the millions of years they lived for, but why do the Nox look like humans in all ways except having a slightly greyer tint? Are the Nox perhaps an offshoot of Ancients, or did they genetically augment themselves to look more human at some point in their history?

I know out of universe it was probably for budget reasons and they didn't have the will nor the CGI to dress up the Nox and make them look alien, but there should be an in-universe reason, like maybe the Ancients and the Nox both only looked vaguely humanoid in the past, and genetically edited themselves over time to a better "form", which is the human physique, but we don't really have any evidence on why they look human.
