Is it an actual game? or is it just a board game?
It's not a board game, it's a roleplay writing site.
Okay, so what's the purpose of the website? I mean you say role play, but it's just text on a screen.
I don't know to me it just seems like fanfiction I guess?
I went to the website and was reading some stuff, but it doesn't look fun or interesting, maybe I'm too old for this stuff or too young, I don't know guess I need to understand what makes it fun for you in order to understand what could possibly make it fun for me.
It's basically a creative writing exercise with a partner. You pick a character you want to write, choose a scenario and write out a thread of posts between your character and others on the site.
So, you write a story, and then the other person writes the same story, but in their style?
Perhaps I misjudged, it does sound kind of interesting actually, I write fanfiction all the time, now it's never anything I actually publish, they're usually just little short stories that are added on to other things that I enjoy, and most often when I write the stories I often feel as if I need somebody else tell bright the story, cuz there are things that I may not come up with or directions that they may take it, but I guess the issue I would have is if the other person isn't serious about their writing, and the story just ends up turning into some kind of bizarre hilarious story, when my goal is to write something good and something that others might actually enjoy reading outside of being a comedy.
However, I could see the value in doing this co-opt with another person, in order to write a funny story based off of that setting, it kind of reminds me of what Brad Wright was doing when he introduced the AI script, cuz he fed everything from Stargate into the script for the AI to write, and it was bizarre and hilarious, and then he involved the actors of the show to do the reading based off of the script that was created the AI. Of course I understand it wasn't exactly AI, it was more of a text programmed that took information and kind of placed sentences that came together, and it was hilarious but it was poorly written hilarious shall I say, it was funny for the moment of being funny, but you couldn't take it seriously in any respect from that direction.
I remember thinking at the time, that it was a serious idea that was brad's, and I was thinking to myself oh crap what has he gotten himself into? But when I understood that it was about joking around, then it was easier to grasp.
I apologize for any errors in my message here, I am using text to speech on my phone and I don't exactly have a whole lot of time to edit everything at the current moment.
What do you think?
