Sheppard and his team were floating out in space wearing space suits when Major Lorne picked them up by Puddle Jumper and were taken back to Atlantis. Rodney had downloaded the complete schematics for the Reality Drive on board the Daedalus from a parallel reality to a tablet that he bought with him. He asked Sheppard if he could build a smaller Reality Drive on one of the Puddle Jumpers but John wouldn’t allow it. A few months go by while Rodney worked on solving the problems with the original Reality Drive and he designed a smaller scaled version of the drive.

Major Lorne, Ronon, Rodney, Dr.Beckett and Teyla were on a planet where a primitive colony of Neanderthals were being culled by the Wraith. Lorne took the opportunity while one of the Wraith landed to feed on a colonist to gain control of a Dart and attack the other Darts. He killed the feeding wraith with his own ship then continued his attack on the other Darts when a return signal to all the Darts was broadcasted and they went back to the Hive ship. The Wraith fired on the planet’s stargate from orbit to isolate the colony from further contact and keep their “food” supply untainted. Lorne’s Dart took a hit from one of the other Darts while they were returning the Hive ship and crash landed. Rodney began repairs on Lorne’s Dart and he upgraded it his smaller Reality Drive by uploading the design to the Dart’s rebooting systems, Rodney’s new version of the Reality Drive was way more controllable because temporal and reality coordinates were automatically saved to the computer so that whatever time or reality the pilot goes can be retraveled.

Rodney tested Lorne’s Dart’s Reality Drive by activating the drive on the surface of the planet and ended up a thousand years in the past. He was jumping to different times and realities to set a base code to more accurately travel with the Reality Drive. One of the realities he went to, Sheppard’s team were all fed on by the Wraith making him the last survivor to make it back to his Puddle Jumper just in time for Rodney to appear. Rodney got out of the Dart and went to the Jumper when he saw a dying Sheppard who was happy to see him. That Sheppard thought he was hallucinating because he saw his Rodney fed on right before his eyes. He apologized to Rodney for letting him die but Rodney knew he was too badly injured to survive anyway so he just let him talk while he tried to comfort him. Rodney decided to use the Dart’s reality drive to stay in the dead Sheppard’s reality but go back far enough in time to save that John and his team.

Dr. McKay read Sheppard’s mission logs after he died so that he would better information to go back and save his team. John logged in that they had arrived at the Neanderthal colony a week prior and were monitoring them every day until the night before. It was then that 3 Wraith Darts came through the stargate and John’s logs were abruptly ended until the day he found him when he first arrived in his reality. That log from before he Rodney got there, John said that he and his team were beamed up by one of the Darts while the other two gathered some of the Neanderthals. When they were materialized, they were put in cells with captured Neanderthals but he noticed that they weren’t on a Hive ship, it was a Wraith cloning facility ran by Todd. Teyla was taken first then Dr. Beckett & Dr. Keller and he never saw them again. Ronon was held down while he was fed to the Wraith Queen, but he was able to break free and kill the Queen before she could finish. John with Ronon’s help was able to free Rodney but Ronon was killed in the process. That Rodney rigged the ZPM Todd was using to power the facility to explode however Todd found and fed on him before he could trigger the explosion. John used Ronon’s sword, killed Todd, triggered the device that Rodney built to overload the ZPM, took a Dart and escaped before the cloning facility exploded. Those logs caught Rodney up to speed and he added the same Reality Drive upgrades he built into the Dart he used to get to that reality.

Rodney buried the Colonel Sheppard from the present reality he was in then he used Wraith ship regeneration technology to grow a new Reality Drive outside the Dart he was using. He put the new drive in the Jumper then he connected the 2 Darts to the jumper and was able to build Wraith transporter technology into it. The Jumper had a complete database download from both Darts and the two Darts could now be controlled by the Jumper’s computer. He activated the stargate from the jumper to go to the gate address that Sheppard mentioned in his logs then he took the jumper through and the 2 Darts followed right behind him being controlled by its main computer. When he arrived at the planet, there was nothing left of the cloning facility because John was successful in triggering the explosion before he escaped. He used one of the Dart’s Reality Drives to go back a week in time and programmed a Dart to find Sheppard and his team when they go back to the Neanderthal colony again, beam them up, dial the gate to an address of an uninhabited planet, go through the gate, materialize the team and finally automatically land. Rodney went to a computer access terminal and found out that the facility only had fifty Wraith besides Todd and the Queen running and protecting the cloning facility while the clones were placed in stasis after they were fully grown within 2 hours. He programmed a few of the other Darts beam up the Wraith and take them to the prison planet the Pegasus Galaxy Coalition Elders we’re going to imprison them in months earlier when John was on trial before Mr. Wolsey became the team’s advocate. He made sure that Todd and the Queen were taken in the first group to that prison planet which left the facility with only 10 Wraith running and protecting it in the new present. Rodney

linked his trio of ships (2 Darts and 1 Puddle Jumper) to the facility’s regeneration technology to incorporate them together to add cloning technology to his ships.

Rodney took the cloning facility’s ZPM and some of the various weapons from the Wraith armory including a few dozen canisters of the retrovirus that Todd perfected in that reality. All of Todd’s research including a formula for a retrovirus that could give Humans all of the extra Wraith abilities without the need to feed on people was uploaded into Rodney’s newly acquired Puddle Jumper.

He took his trio of ships back to the Neanderthal colony planet then from there he activated the Reality Drive and reappeared in his own reality where he saw Major Lorne and the others trying to repair the Stargate but it was to far gone to do anything for it. Rodney landed the ships picked up the team, went back in time to when the gate wasn’t destroyed and dialed Atlantis.
