Ahem, that's true of almost every Goa'uld/God in stargate excluding the Asgard. Also, I think this is explained in "Thor's Hammer," that the only gods that acted without malice were the Asgard.

Because every other god in Stargate are false gods, even the Asgard.

Like, the god Ra actually exists in ancient Egyptian mythology for instance, whilst to my knowledge the Ancients aren't really mythological characters.
