I'm so grateful for season 9 and 10. The more DVDs on my shelf the merrier.

Asides from what the Ori did to Vala. I don't mind the Ori.

I don’t think the Ori storyline was great and the last two seasons don’t really measure up to the earlier ones. That said, I wouldn’t say I wish they hadn’t happened. An entirely new series wouldn’t have had the momentum.

I like we got too see why the Ascended Ancients were against helping the lower planes of existence.

Meh, I mean, it certainly could of been a better end to the series, however I did like the introduction of Vala, and a bit of a deeper dive into the post-Goa'uld galaxy. The Ori thing wasn't the best, but it was certainly enjoyable and tolerable. I do wish they had more collaboration with Atlantis and Atlantis definitely ended far too abruptly for my liking, but yeah, I see where you're coming from where the entire balance shifts from the Goa'uld to a totally different alien race.

I'm happy for seasons 9 and 10, I wish there were more.

The Ori is a scifi version of cult worship, the top brass feeding off the worshippers. I think stargate did a good job exposing cults, blind allegiance and the dangers the pose.

I enjoyed these seasons, but i do wish they had more time to explain the story of the alteran in better detail. which is why i have written so much on the topic of destiny or the alteran or their history and their exploits within the vast universe.

Just the other day i was thinking about the story SGU told in the background and the information that it was leading to as the alteran were investigating the leftover background microwave radiation by something that could only be created by an intelligence much larger than all the ascended combined.

But of course at this point of their history of creating the destiny, they couldn't possibly know nor understand what they would eventually become millions of years later.

But it basically suggests that there was a much higher being that created the universe, the ascended alteran and Ori were nowhere near as powerful as this intelligent being putting the universe together long since before their world sprang to life as well as many other races.

From what we know of the ascended beings in the milky way, is they have great power that is most often held back because of their rules,

but in the Ori galaxy they have more room to rule as they please, except as it would seem, they only stayed in their home galaxy instead of spreading Origin through out the known universe.

But info that points to an possible even higher power than all of the ascended beings to exist that has been creating worlds and galaxies since the beginning of time.

At least this is where i believe they were heading in SGU, based off of the events that played out in the show when they discovered an small solar system that was brand new with no explanation to where it came from, so the crew took advantage of it while they could and some wanted to stay on the planet while the rest stayed onboard the destiny.

And then later on when TJ was contacted through dreams of this planet that they left and her baby didn't die like she thought, but the dream explained that her baby was fine on that planet and she was showed a vision of an nebula that was distinct so she would know that it was real and she didn't just dream about it.

Anyway, something out there is creating star systems and we don't know any being that comes this close as powerful in creating planets other than the ascended beings, but they are limited in power, as far as we know they don't create planets or whole solar systems, we know they can control the weather or lightning as well as other natural disasters on an planet. but we don't know if they know how to create planets and entire solar systems like this being in SGU.

The Ori weren't an totally different race, they were the same ppl of the Alterans, that were left behind when the Alterans escaped the galaxy.

And because the series hinted about the values of the ascended beings through out the series, so that we could know why they opposed intervention with the lower planes so much in the series.

I just find it amazing that many millennia went by and they still had this mentality of what happened millions or years before their birth. because the last generation of atlantian's were far from the understanding of the first generation who left the Ori galaxy.

How did they keep their children's children away from the knowledge of the Ori, but kept the knowledge in each generation without losing any of that mentality after millions of years after the fact?

I mean i guess they could do it through the use of tech, but they stayed away from the influence of any within their group who might of thought it could be a good idea to go back to the Ori galaxy.
