Most defiantly. it would be stupid of them not to have this information, i mean it's clearly within the alteran repository of knowledge, but we humans are either to underdeveloped or simply cannot withstand that much knowledge at a time,
It's weird thinking about it, because the repository suggests that the knowledge wasn't meant to stay within the users mind forever to us average humans, and contains no way to release that information, instead it programs the user to find a way to the closest planet with the technical capabilities to extract the info so it doesn't kill the user. you would think that it would also give the user the ability to build an device to contain and extract that knowledge from the user, but maybe it does, and it might take a bit longer to build than to make the device for travel was an faster option.
It was nice to get some of that knowledge when O'Neill had the repository within his head with the entire gate system downloaded within our address computers.
Maybe if O'Neill had more time, he could have built other things that could help earth further. but i suspect the repository was meant to only be used for short term knowledge boost for the alterans then uploaded to another terminal when they were done using it. until they were able to manipulate their DNA to hold a much higher capacity of information.
Just a few of my speculations.
